All participants in the CERN 70th Anniversary Table tennis Tournament are invited to the Prize ceremony that will follow the semifinals and final, at CERN Restaurant 1, on June 27, to receive their "Prix Souvenir".

16:30: Semifinals followed by the final

18:00 Prize ceremony with the participation of Luciano Musa, Coordinator of CERN 70th Anniversary Celebration. Semifinalists, finalist and winner will have in addition special prizes

 Drink will be offered at the end of the ceremony.

We hope you will all join us on this occasion.

The prize ceremony will take place at CERN Restaurant 1, on Thursday June 27, at 18:00 following the last 3 matches of the tournament, two semi-finals (16:30) and the final (17:30).

Prizes for semi-finalists, finalist and winner will be given by Luciano Musa, Coordinator of the CERN 70th anniversary.

A beautiful Prix Souvenir will be distributed to each participant, so even if you did not make it to the semi-final, make sure to come and collect your prize.

There will be a drink offered by the CERN Table Tennis Club, so even if you did not participate in the tournament, come and join us to celebrate the occasion.

CERN Table Tennis Club Celebrating CERN 70th Anniversary

Special Table Tennis Tournament (inscription deadline postponed to Monday May 27, midnight)

May 27 to June 27, 2024

At the CERN TT Club general meeting, on March 16, it was decided that the next CERN Championship will take place on Friday August 18, evening (qualifications for half of the groups), Saturday August 19 morning (qualifications for the other half of the groups), and Saturday August 19, afternoon (main draw and consolation draw).

The group rounds serve to rank people. Usually we have groups of 4, so you are  ensured to play at least 3 matches in your group. The first two players of each group together with some of the best 3rd will play in the main draw. All the other player will have a second chance by playing in the consolation draw.

Inscriptions will open at the beginning of July, but it is time to seriously train for the event.

As the official competition season is finished in Geneva, you will always find free tables at the Meyrin club on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting around 17:00. So do not hesitate to come.

As each year, we were invited by the CERN Staff Association to make a table tennis demo on May 31st. The events was a great success thanks to Bertrand, Ricardo and Marius!

It is open to all people working at CERN, former CERN workers and their families.

Information on how to register will be distributed very soon.

Make sure you train seriously for this important and fun event!

We have an invitation from the CERN Staff Association to make a table tennis demo on June 9th. We need volunteers, it will be around lunch time on the main lawn, and for a couple of hours at most. Please contact JPR if you want to contribute.
